Still nothing to shoot

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

Despite the unrelenting weather, I managed to get outside for a few shots. Mind you, it was well after sunset, in a parking lot under sodium light.

PS. Someone else please post something within the next 24 hours - we’ve had a posted-a-day each day so far this year, and I have *nothing* for tomorrow!

Grab that camera, we’re going

We took a shot out to Fort Amherst yesterday afternoon during the last few minutes of non-overcast.

That’s Angelika in the top right. She is either A. Quite happy about having trekked to the end of the trail despite the cold temperature OR B. Doing her impersonation of the star on Cabot Tower.

Nothing to shoot

January 4th, 2009 · 6 Comments

The past few days have had very little sun in St. John’s.  When, on occasion, the sun would break through, it would show itself just for a few hours - long enough to allow me to finish the task at hand and grab the camera… but not long enough to actually get some shots.

Here are a few inside shots from today… just before we took the tree down.

This is the last in the series of my printed photos from 2008.

I think we’re all hoping to get out for some new stuff in the very near future.

2008 Printing

During a cleanup of my hdd I stumbled upon a project on which I had been working.  While moving into a new place a few months ago, Angelika and I acknowledged that the walls were embarrassingly bare of decoration, so I broke from tradition and actually printed some of my shots.

Here’s the first of a few…

Slip Sliding Away

December 28th, 2008 · 1 Comment

This picture is certainly not that great, but it did come after subjecting ourselves to significant risk; a slippery ride down a very steep ice covered road, a sudden spin, and several minutes and layers of rubber while trying to get back out.

Add to that the loss of one Estwing 28oz Framing Hammer and, overall, it wasn’t worth it.

More from Ontario

After having a day or two of merely moderate weather for photography, we stumbled upon The Butterfly Conservatory just north of Niagara Falls. I had shot only a few dozen pictures to that point, so when Angelika spotted a road sign for the attraction, I welcomed the chance to visit perhaps more than I otherwise would have.

Southern Ontario

A few more shots from the recent weekend trip. After an early morning start, we took a run down to Niagara Falls from Toronto.

Shooting the Falls.

As you can see, Angelika shoots with a Nikon. Note; this is the first time that the word Nikon has appeared in this blog.
