After having a day or two of merely moderate weather for photography, we stumbled upon The Butterfly Conservatory just north of Niagara Falls. I had shot only a few dozen pictures to that point, so when Angelika spotted a road sign for the attraction, I welcomed the chance to visit perhaps more than I otherwise would have.

Despite the icebergs that are still looming off the coast we have managed to pull off a couple of good days. Imagine no snow fell on May 24th. Well here is probably my last shot of an iceberg and my first of many sunny days (cross your fingers) as we dive into Spring.

Well, not quite!! I’m always up for the challenge of looking for some caribou, or lying in wait for that shot of a moose. Hell, I’ll even settle for a weasel, beaver or anything wild to get some pictures. None of that has happened yet and it seems I’ll have to wait for the opening of the Salmonier Nature Park!! If we just could have made it to Cape St. Mary’s… oh well, maybe next time.In the mean time I’ll just have to settle for pets and farm animals.

I guess we can’t always luck into a seal on one of our trips! Just remember, when shooting the cows, don’t stand too close if the ground is mushy as they can splash some crap on you… and your camera!!

How about this. It was on my camera, but I’ll have to wait ’till later to find out fur sure if it’s not my shot.

Who is that lazy-ass anyway? Get outta the car if you see something! Jezzz!

Nestled comfortably in beautiful Conception Bay, the Port de Grave Peninsula stretches 10 kilometres out into the ocean that it has depended on for centuries. Made up of several small communites, Port de Grave Peninsula consists of Bareneed, Black Duck Pond, Otterbury, Ship Cove, Blow Me Down, Hibb’s Cove, Pick Eyes, and Hussey’s Cove with a total population of just under 800.
Ok, thats the details on the location and here are some photos!!

My last few shots from the Irish Loop trip that we did on Sunday.

One of those shots are not from Newfoundland at all - the bottom right is from Waimea Falls Park in Hawaii. I needed a second landscape oriented pic to test the PS action that Andreau created for these posts, and that one has been kicking around my HD for a few weeks.
